2.24.12 Do you like deals?
Thanks to everyone who came out during President’s Week. I felt like I was at a resort out west with warm days that make you want to take lap after lap. We were able to open a bunch of natural trails and I was thankful for the new playlist. If you were here and liked what you saw, please do me a favor and tell your friends that there is snow in VT – plenty of it.
If your friends need a nudge to dig their skis out of the garage and strap on the ski rack, I am prepared to help them with my favorite deals for making your ski trip a great value.
The absolute best deal is a purchase of our brand new Vernal Eternal Spring Pass. http://vernaleternal.com/#buy_now It is only $299 and it allows you to ski ANY DAY from Feb 26 until the close of the season. And if you get hooked on Mount Snow and want to invest in a pass for next year, we will put your $299 purchase price towards your 2012-13 pass.
How about $17 lift tickets and an epic party? And you get to wear green and dance the jig! It’s back. Our popular St. Patty’s Day ticket promo and on-snow party. This year the $17 ticket deal will be on Friday, March 16th and YOU MUST purchase your ticket online, in advance in order to get the deal. Here’s the link: CLICK HERE. If you can’t get away for the Friday party, no problem, we will roll our St. Patty’s Day celebration right into Saturday. I really think you should make a weekend of it.
And if $17 is still a stretch, how about free skiing for an entire year. All you have to do is win this!
That’s our annual Sink or Skim event on Reggaefest Weekend and if you are wearing a crowd-pleasing costume and styling the best glide of the day, you may walk away with a 2012-13 season pass.
Personally, getting wet in the winter is not my thing but finding a Golden Easter Egg is! Every year the Easter Bunny carefully hides a beautiful golden egg and if you find it, you win a 2012-13 season pass. Book an Easter weekend vacation that includes your lift tickets for only $79 a day http://mountsnow.com/vacation-packages/ and join the hunt for gold on Sunday, April 8th.
I will end on a few personal favoites. If you haven’t tried the 1900′ Burger yet, get there! The burger menu is very creative and the milkshakes are the best! Of course we are talking deals so I will turn you onto the $2.50 Sliders Special from 3-6 pm on Friday’s – it is the best apres ski deal going.
I have mentioned before that I really like jackets/ski parkas. I already bought two this year! Now is the time to buy a jacket when the prices start dropping. Now through March 1, jackets and all other outerware is 40% off at Backside and Mount Snow Sports at the Grand. I checked out the selection for you – good deals! I have my eye on a few.
Now that I have saved you lots of money I think you should spend some of those savings on a massage or facial http://mountsnownaturespa.com/seasonal-specialties/spring-specialties for that special someone in your life. The return on investment on a sweet gift like that will have you smiling – guaranteed! And yes, they even have some Spring specials.

Do you know when the grommit jam finals will be posted to the site?
dave, results are at http://carinthiaparks.com/events/
Thanks
Kelly–
Great job this year for making something out of nothing as far as the conditions go! Mother nature has been on vacation all year long! How long will Mt Snow continue to make snow this year?
Kevin
Thanks Kevin,
The plan for snowmaking is for resurface purpose only. We have already built our spring depths. I don’t think you will see much more snowmaking unless we are fixing up some areas that need attention.
Spring is the best time of year here! 1900′ Burger was great today. But beware of the milkshake made with Makers Mark. Its way too good.
And loving the 4-6″ Mother Nature dropped FR/SA!
Why was Ripcord closed today? I hope that it will be open for the Gladiator.
Ripcord was closed due to icy conditions. We expect it to rebound before Glad-iator.
any idea if the mountain is planning on remaining open the week of April 9-14th
Jim, we’re planning on closing April 8, however if there is sufficient snow and skier demand, we may stay open longer.
Please install a few more cams. Looking for what seems a mile away at simply a line or lack of a line at the BB lift or at the cross under trail of the BB is really not too informative. How about maybe something on the NorthFace and even Sunbrook> A closer image of something at Carinthia (again the current one is miles away from anything that is really recognizable. Even last year while we only saw the Canyon lift at least we also saw some of a trail and skiing. Also would be nice if had a real live weather station (temp, wind speed, etc.) online either digitally or even in a small video window. Knowing the real live temps, etc. and seeing real skiing would encourage many of us to make the trip especially on marginal days and certainly on great days.
Di, we’re always trying to improve our technology, and these are things we plan to look at during the off-season.
Sunday pass went from $299 to $349.. Yet another price increase……..
“Yet Another” ??? they froze pricing on almost every one of their passes, something i doubt any other resorts in the area will do. $299 for the sunday pass was ridiculously underpriced to begin with. Stop complaining just for the sake of complaining.
Andy — HAHAH>. They raised prices last year on all passes, and this year raised the price on the Sunday Pass and a few others. Sunday passes at Stratton & Okemo are cheaper, and yes, I will be switching.
I am NOT complaining– I am stating a fact.
Paul – have Okemo and Stratton come out with their season pass pricing yet? I could not find it.
“sunday and a few others” is not a fact, actually. for next season (the new pass pricing has been announced) only 2 passes are increasing. nor’easter is still an incredible value and no price increase. have fun at okemo.
It is a fact – 4 went up take a closer look.
