#2 of 3 Grommet Jam events for our 12 and under skiers and riders. This event series is a great way for kids to get out and learn a few things from our coaches and ski school instructors.
Coaches and instructors from our Training Center and Ski & Snowboard School will help out our little jibbers in our Grommet park at Carinthia in the morning and after a lunch break (not included) we'll have a fun park competition with an awards ceremony to immediately follow. Registration for this popular event is 70 youngsters so be sure to reserve a spot by pre-registering online. Prizes and raffle for participants immediately following the competition at the Carinthia Base Lodge.
Cost: $40 (lift ticket not included). Cash or check only. To pay using a credit card, you MUST pre-register online using the link below.
Bib Deposit: $10 cash
Registration: 8am - 9:30am Carinthia Base Lodge Basement
Park Practice with tips from our coaches: 10am - 11:30am
Practice will be an open format- so the kids will lap the park while our coaches position themselves to give help and tips at the features. The coaches are there to help and are more than willing to talk to every Grom to help them progress, but kids will not be broken up into individual coaching groups.
Lunch Break: 11:30am - 12:45pm (pick up kids at the park please)
Competition: 1pm - 2:30pm
Awards, bib raffle, and bib return: 3:15ish (Carinthia Deck)
Bib Raffle & Bib Return- Unfortunately the bib raffles have gotten a bit out of hand with pushing, shoving, and kids not respecting each other or the event staff.
As a result, for this event, every child will be required to be with an adult while names are being called and to claim a bib raffle prize- if no adult is present the child will not be allowed to take anything. I am sorry that it has come to this, but a change is needed in order for us to be able to provide this fun part of the event in a civilized manner.
Bib return will occur during and after the bib raffle. When your child’s name is called, while they pick out his/her prize we ask that the parent return the bib and collect the bib deposit. We will only give the bib deposit back to the accompanying adult, not the participant. Anyone who is not picked for the bib raffle can have their accompanying adult return their bib at the end of the raffle at which time the adult will get the deposit back. If you need to leave before the raffle, we will have someone available to collect bibs before awards but remember if you hand in your bib your child will not be eligible for the raffle.
If we do not get everyone’s cooperation on this, we will no longer be able to have bib raffles for Grommet Jams.
