12/14/2013 - ORANGE CRUSH
9:30pm | $5 | 21+
For 17 Years Orange Crush has been winning over the hearts of hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the country. Recently inducted into the Grand Band Slam Hall Of Fame for Best Cover Band (as voted perennially by the readers of the Valley Advocate) "O.C." performs at clubs, on campuses and for public & private events throughout the year.
Guitarist Jeremy Simonich easily glides from one style to the next, while Bassist Rich Yirga keeps the bottom end locked down. Drummer Tom Kielbania JR supplies energy and non-stop flow, and Lead Vocalist Scott Lawson is the heart and soul of the group with his strong stage presence.
Formed in Chicopee, Massachusetts in 1996, Orange Crush initially started performing as an REM tribute band (taking that bands song "Orange Crush" as their identifying moniker). With the arrival of a new Millennium, the band had started reshaping it's set list to focus on dance-heavy smash hits from various '80s recording artists.
Playing shows at local clubs had resulted in a strong following, and as the band won their first (of what would later be many) Best Cover Band awards, they often found themselves taking to the road to tour colleges. The band has toured the majority of the Central and Southern United States, has opened for such acts as Reel Big Fish, Guster, Young Love, KRS1, OK Go! and continues to add to it's ever-growing fan base.
Today, O.C. performs at clubs, colleges, conventions, corporate events, town green/park and recreation concerts, weddings, boat tours, private parties, fairs and festivals - all of which makes them the perfect band for any occasion for people of any age.
Once witnessed... you might even forget what decade you are living in!Website | Facebook |
12/21/2013 - JAMIE KENT & THE OPTIONS
9:30pm | $5 | 21+
A fresh 26-year-old singer-songwriter with big dreams and an ever-expanding fanbase, artist Jamie Kent’s future as a performer looks quite promising. Drawing on influences from modern artists like Ray Lamontagne and Amos Lee as well as paying tribute to classic greats like Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, Kent’s perfectly mellifluous tunes are roll-the-windows-down, soak-up-some-sun kind of good. Since the release of his debut LP in 2011, the singer-songwriter has been collaborating with his band, Jamie Kent & The Options, to cultivate a sound with a strong folk rock and Americana influence. Kent has no fear of hard work, playing over 200 shows a year including tours with Huey Lewis & The News, The Wood Brothers, Marc Broussard, Ellis Paul, and multiple showcases at the South By Southwest Music Festival. Kent is supported by The Collective, an amazing grassroots group of fans who help advise and fund his career in exchange for access to exclusive music, merchandise, and vote in the major decisions he makes.Website | Facebook |
