Two-day festival features more than 30 breweries, almost 90 taps, live music and tons of food
Mount Snow, VT (August 27, 2012) – A year after flood damaged roads from Tropical Storm Irene forced Mount Snow to postpone its Brewers Festival and combine it with the resort’s annual Oktoberfest over Columbus Day weekend, the renowned celebration of beer, music and food is once again on for Labor Day weekend much to the delight of visitors that have made it their annual tradition. The Mount Snow Brewers Festival has become one of the premier events of its kind in the northeast with organizers expecting more than 30 different breweries to be on-hand pouring their beers and ciders from almost 90 different taps with live music and great food all weekend long.
The inaugural Mount Snow Brewers Festival occurred in 1994 and was coordinated by current Mount Snow General Manager, Kelly Pawlak, in response to the growing interest in microbreweries that were popping up all over New England. The event has grown considerably since but still maintains the same small festival feel it had then and the focus on beer, music, food and good people hasn’t changed a bit.
“I’m thrilled that our Brewers Festival has become an annual Labor Day weekend tradition for so many people,” says Pawlak. “I love the groups that show up in their matching t-shirts and just seeing everyone having a great time makes this by far one of my favorite events of the year.”
Quality live music will be on-stage throughout the event starting on Saturday with a performance by Brewers Festival favorite Jeff Tuohy Band rocking out upbeat covers and groovy originals that keep the crowd dancing. Sunday will feature the Vermont-based trio Jatoba who will bring their very own, foot stomping “groove-grass” style to the stage following an opening performance by Break Maids.
Tickets for Mount Snow Brewers Festival are $25 for one day, $35 for two days for ages 21+ and $12 for one day, $20 for two days for anyone under 21 and designated drivers. Admission for the 21+ crowd includes a commemorative glass and two beer tokens; beer tokens are $2 each for an 8oz pour. Hours are Saturday and Sunday, Noon to 6:00pm and the festival takes place in the Main Base Area of Mount Snow.
