Mount Snow Redesigns Trail Map Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Continuing the trend of transparency in their snow reporting philosophy Mount Snow has redesigned its trail map for the 2009-2010 season. What was once a smattering of small connector trails and defining a run by its upper, middle and lower sections has now been scratched clean and reinvented. Last season’s trail count totaled 107 trails as opposed to the new system of 80.
"Our goal is to promote transparency. We can't promote that if we exaggerate the number of trails we have by giving one trail multiple names. It is important that our customers have confidence in the information we give them. Everyone wins in that environment" said Tim Boyd, president of Mount Snow’s parent company, Peak Resorts.
For example, if you ever wondered where the line between Upper Exhibition and Exhibition was you’re not the only one. Or why South Bowl and Sundance were two different trails. There is now a better sense that a trail is actually a trail, and not a random line drawn on the map.
Now when you see the snow report in your paper you can rest assured that a trail at Mount Snow is truly a trail.
